Aftermarket Parts interchange...

Since this IS technical...

OIL FILTER, Suzuki PN 16510-37440, Emgo PN 10-85900.
Fits: DR500 X/SX/SZ/D 81-83; DR600 S/R 85-88; DR650N 89-92; DR700S 88-94; LS650/S40 86-up; SP500 81-83; SP600 85.

Says right on the filter box: For the best engine protection we recommend that you replace your oil filter when you change your oil. DO NOT exceed 1500 miles without checking AND changing this filter.

REAR BRAKE SHOES, Suzuki PN 64410-11300/11301, Emgo PN 92-41005, EBC PN 606. Fits: GS425N/EN 78-80; GSX400LX/SX 81; GN400 80-82; GS450E/L 80-83; GR650D/XD 83; GS450G 82-85; GS450LF 85; GS550LD/LF 83-85; GT250EN-EX 78-81; GS250,GSX250ET-EZ 79-82; GS450ST/SX 80-81; GS450TX/TXZ/TXD, GS400ET-EZ 81-83; GS300 82,83,85; LS650/S40 ALL.

I also TRIED to use the catalog spec Suzuki PN 59340-14500, EMGO PN 90-71970, EBC PN FA106. They DO NOT fit. You can use one new pad, one old pad and make them work, adding the second new pad after the first has worn down by 50 percent.

Hope these help.

Good info...

Why don't the EBC 106X pads fit your bike?  Did you completely collapse the caliper before you installed them?  They are the ones that I installed on our bikes....I have the picture of the brake package.

Not sure why they didn't fit, but they didn't. Too thick for the most part. My guess is the shop mislabeled them... ???

It is always necessary to compress the caliper piston for new pads.  Sometimes, even before you can get it off of the rotor.  I use a C-clamp.

Here's the front brake pads.

At full piston retraction, the pads are too thick. The EBC and Suzuki versions most likely fit perfectly. I picked up the Emgo set, which was all I had at the shop. The Emgo front brake pads are too thick.

I also had a hard time getting them to fit. I had to grind off just a hair on each pad and then they fit like a glove

Talk about bringing a thread back from the graveyard...  Grin

That brake pad is available in 3 different thicknesses. You need the thinnest one for it to fit correctly unless your rotor is way out of spec.

Hey guys I did some research and tracked down a header gasket from autozone. It is a Felpro # 60720. No excuses for head pipe leaks now.

Actually there's one specifically designed for our bikes and cheaper if you search
"LS650 header gasket" on eBay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Suzuki-LS650-86-06-Exhaust-Header-Ring-Gasket-Seal-/1...

The ones you have there are for cat converters, but hey if it works why not

Cam chain crossover

This may have been posted before, but the cam chain for the 1990-2005 Kawasaki ZX600 is the same chain, but about 20 to 40 dollars less, depending on where you look.
The manufacturer number is 82RH2015-132 link.
The Kawasaki part number is 92057-1297.
Hope this helps someone.

I found that the Kawasaki ZX600 D and E versions (not the C or A) use the same chain and the ZZR500 and all Aprillia 650s, unfortunately, these bikes are as rare as hen's teeth in Brazil so parts would be very expensive.

Not confirmed, but worth looking into.

Another oil filter:

KN-137, available from O'Reilly Auto Parts. If not in stock, they can usually get one in overnight. About $10.

KN-137 also available from Amazon as an "add-on" item (you have to order $25 or more). Price: $5.17 each.

Prices as of 30 Oct 2016, filter only, no O-rings.
