The manual says 20w50 is ok down to 14f - and 10w40 down to -4f - with 20w50 in the teens I'd sure warm it first.

Pass the thanks on to Mike at Suzuki City in Biloxi MS. Told me to break the engine in on the factory 10W40 (took all of a weekend), and then switch to 20W50 DINO juice. 10W40 synthetic is a bit TOO slippery. Sure works good in the Intruder though...Castrol Syntech 10W40 car blended oil. Air versus liquid cooled...liquid cooled engines don't get as hot.

Heh. I usually just pour a half a quart of 10W40 every 500 miles (200 miles if it's highway...). burn burn burn...
gonna try the change to 20W50
Those oil filters are only good for 1500 miles? That's crazy! Does anyone amke a better filter?
K&N makes one... anyone know if it's any good?

spray painted "ghost flames" over the dirt on it last night while drunk... looks good (for a rat)

The local Wally World blew-out 5-qt. jugs of 15-50 (red top)
for $18 ea.=$3.60/qt. I bought 25 qts. I got it in my truck, my Savage AND my Husquvarna mower. Great stuff.
I used to meet each Friday, happy hour at Ted's (across from the old Silverdome) w/ a lubrication engineer and he liked the Mobil 1, that and my bud's GMC Typhoon speced M1 as the turbo was hard on oil as I recall. I wont always pay $5 for it but watch for it on sale.

I had Suzuki 10W40 in my bike and put Castorol GTX 20W50 in it today following WD recommendation before going to work. Road it in and back 45 total miles the motor has never been smoother the trans has never shifted better. It was like night and day. We'll see from here how it does. 8)
now over 500 miles on the oil and still holding up great no clutch slip 8)
