Starting a Savage fleet I guess

Well, since the site was down all weekend we out and found a silver 2002 with under 500 miles on it that now has a new home in my garage along with the '95 - my better half has her licn now and wants to ride some - should be fun to convert this nearly silent stocker to a roaring runner !

Congratulations on the new bike.  But who gets the '95 and who gets the '02?

If your better half is a new rider, make sure you take the bike with the least amount of known quirks. Giving a "new to you" scoot to a new rider is a dirty trick. They'll have enough to concentrate on without throwing in debugging a "new" bike.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Ride the 02 a couple times, and if all seems fine, let "the boss" choose who's scoot is whose. 2 Savages... you're a masochist at heart, aren't you?  Grin

Now, you too can know the excitement and thrill of having your own Savage bike gang.  Maybe we should start a new group....

Well the '95 stays with me it looks like and the "new" '02 goes to her - I'll ride it some
and look for quirks - , of course I own the
maintence for both - but that is the fun part

Great!!!

Now, who of you has the magic recipe to convince the Old Ball Chain that riding is fun???  ???

I tried to teach her to ride about 10 years ago, but she was too scared and never tried again... Shocked

I'd be happy to buy her another bike if she wanted to ride, that way my son would have choices... Wink

I've got the same problem as Red does, my wife won't even sit on the bike when it is in the garage, don't even try to get her out on the road on it. At least she's not bugging me every day to get rid of it, she's down to once a week. You are lucky that your wife is willing to ride, my ol ball an chain doesn't have a clue as to what it is all about, doesn't want to know either. Enjoy you new silver '02, that's what I'm riding. My wife gave the Savage back to me, and took over the Shadow 600!  However, she can't shift the Shadow as well as the Savage, and she has to work the friction zone a heck of a lot more from a stoplight.  It's the ride of the Shadow she likes.

I should call myself "Shadow" and see what happens...Or maybe Savage, and work the friction...oops, sharing too much again.

Having a significant other that likes to ride, and kids that like to go with us, is a great thing in my semi-old middle-age.

My wife is terrified of bikes too.  She won't have anything to do with 'em.

I ride a Savage. My wife rides a 800 Intruder. Mine is faster, her's rides smoother. Mine's a rat, hers is semi-custom.

I can't, there is no such a thing as a MSF program down here in Chile,   Sad  only a couple of riders who give riding lessons sporadically, but nothing like a serious program  Sad

Any chance to get literature about that? I can translate the docs into Spanish if they 're only in English (I guess California and Florida should have a Spanish version)

Congrats on the additional Savage!
Boy am I glad this site is back up! ... was out of town since last weekend traipsing up & down the beautiful west coast of Newfoundland doing some work for Nfld. Hydro.
My missus HATES motorcycles ... wouldn't prod her near one with a 10ft. barge pole! Thankfully though, she doesn't nag me about owning one, or taking off for a Ride ... and my pals who having Riding spouses envy the fact that I can "go it alone", whereas every time they put on gear and try to sneak out for a "solo" bit, they get, "where ya goin' hon? wait for me!" Wink
