Your bike is looking really good.

The only thing left is to get rid of the rear footpeg mounts, eh?

Yup, same here.  For me anyway, it's sometimes good to be able to change positions (even for a few minutes) on longer rides.

i got the seat used from johnd. i added the springs from a bicycle seat.

alas i've changed it if you've seen the recent pics. it just sat to high. the seat is now fastened to frame. i've set the springs on the bic to the softest.

heres' where you can pick them up new

http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/chopper.htm

it was a tough decision to remove the springs, it was pretty darn comfortable.  but i was watching a buildoff show the other night and have figgured out how to replace the springs without raising the seat.

i'll have to make a stronger seat pan in the excact shape of the seat then add multiple smaller springs to underside of seat.  looks like it will work.

Thanks for the link....

Essentially the Savage seat has an 11" seat pan.  It looks like the solo seat might be thinner so with 3" springs (compressed under my mass) the increase might not be much at all.

What about this one?

...and these springs?

that's the set up.

the 11 incher would work better with a stock type fender.

the 9 inch looks better with the bob.

the big thing in filling the excess space under the bottom

between the backbone and bottom of seat..

the removed airbox would allow for a mountain bike shock under the seat. .

as you look at the progression of my machine you can see the several different  "tins" ive used to hide the space.  final straw was just taking off the springs.

but i've got something in for that.   that mountain bike shock looks do able to.  i just need to quit futzin' around with it and get my butt accustomed to the ride, that's really the only thing that makes the seat more comfortable.

I hope to get creative and rewire that mess under the seat.  What I would really like to find is a selection of multiple wire connectors so that I can start cutting and rerouting that "cluster" of crap that is normally hidden under the seat.

At this point I plan to put the rectifier under the battery box.  After that, I'm not sure  8)
