I hope to get creative and rewire that mess under the seat.  What I would really like to find is a selection of multiple wire connectors so that I can start cutting and rerouting that "cluster" of crap that is normally hidden under the seat.

At this point I plan to put the rectifier under the battery box.  After that, I'm not sure  8)

that's been floating around my feeble little mind. that alone with a minimal wiring system to clean up the handlebars.

but it's just about time to really get out and ride the darn thing. so that my  be next winters mods.

or the next long rainy weekend. Shocked

Um, Sluggo, um, I, uh, have a line drawing at the house on how to fit a mountain bike shock on a solo seat... It is out of the Horse Backstreet Choppers. I think Xsspeed designed the set-up. The drawings and rough in look like a 4 year old was playing with a box of crayons, but finished off, it seems to be a fairly solid set-up.

Same article walks through foot clutch hand shift conversion.

Ah, found it. May 2003, issue #32. C'mon over.

Yeah, I need to "undent" mines tank too.  Angry Trailers...

I suppose I could be nice. I'll see if my wife can scan the pics in and e-mail them to you. I'd try, but last time I did something like that, I kinda, hmm, how should I say it, nuked the computer.  Roll Eyes I'm not allowed to play with non-internet stuff anymore.  Grin

I think I found my tank spune (take that edit program). Going to try and tap the dent out instead of "blast it out". Savage tank seams are soldered, and I've managed to obliterate more than one welded tank with a model rocket ignitor. Oops.

See you in June, or sooner. If the rain ever lets up...Need scuba gear to go out to the truck. At least my "western washington native" gills are working again...

after carefull consideration, and a two tank ride, thumper is back to being a springer seat.

the seat looked cool mounted on the frame, is was just to much for my lily white butt to take.. so springer it is..

I now have the spouse's blessing to get that springer seat....How did you attach the seat to the front mount?

In follow up, I ordered the 11" springer seat from the link that you sent.  I also ordered 2 springs and the chrome front mount.  That, plus shipping was $75.

Now I just gotta figure out how to mount the silly thing....

One more, and it's got the right engine, too!

Even though the tank looks like it's got a carbuncle on top.

One the oter side, there's some interesting stuff going on.  Check out the relocated Ignition.   Just that silly Harley hump on the tank kills the look.

Those are all pretty cool.  I like the first one because of that raw naked look and the second one for the white wall tires.

The Savage one really had the frame chopped, didn't it?  I'm afraid that my butt can't handle that kind of hard ride.  I like the bag mounted on the belt guard.

I can't wait for the seat to get here.
