A Mikuni sold by 'murray' is a Mikuni, as a Mikuni sold by Lancer is a Mikuni. Thought you were on to something new.
I'd be curious as to what jets your original carb had.
Cheers!  Cool

For everyone's "SA", Murray carbs are frequently recommended by members of the Suzuki Savage Int'l group on FB.

I don’t remember the Main having a washer under it.

If you don't have a washer under the main, it can be sucked up or follow the needle when it goes up, yielding poor performance.

I did everything I read to make this carb work.  Even cleaned it twice.  Still ran like crap.  2009 S40 stock

The stock carb still has a restricted passageway or the slide wasn't functioning properly.  I wouldn't have done the white spacer mod until I had it functioning properly, but that wouldn't have made much of a difference anyway.

The carb you got from Murray's was obviously prejetted for the LS650 so you're good to go.

There should be a spring on the needle jet.....and the spring should go under the circlip and have a small washer on top, and the spacer should go on top.

The spring pushes the needle up against the white spacer (or the #3 machine screw washers if you used them to replace the spacer....3 are recommended as a start in the jetting process).  If you mistakenly put the spacer underneath and the spring on top the bike won't run well.

" alt="" title="" border="0" />Quote " If you mistakenly put the spacer underneath and the spring on top the bike won't run well."

I well remember that the spacer sat right on top of the c-clip... and then the spring.....no tiny washer under the c-clip...just spacer, c-clip, spring.

I could not figure out how to get the needle jet out!  So I sprayed it with carb cleaner and soaked it in the one gallon carb cleaner.  It was a wrestling match to get the float jet out....had to destroy it with vice grips.
