When I got rear ended in 2010 on my cheater chopper/bobber, they made a big deal about not seeing my tail light. But they had no case, I had a dot taillight on it from another bike mounted at the same height and angle

Cool.
Srinath.

I think safety is biggly important on any motorcycle.  Installing tiny turn signals that can't be seen in daylight or direct sun is just asking for trouble.....and having a brake light that is bright and attention grabbing is vitally important now that drivers are busy on their cell phones, computer displays on their dashboards, etc.

DOT may no be enough to keep you safe.  The RYCA tail light on my bike was pathetic - so I installed an extra extremely bright Emergency Flasher that can be set in the "steady" mode for a brake light, and I also installed bright LED bulbs in my turn signals.

Being "DOT compliant" is nice - but being seen and not getting run over is even better!

This is the LED strobe unit I used as a brake light.

Thanks, Marcus2116, I really appreciate your responses. I'd love to see more photos, your bike is beautiful! I hope you'll add photos here from time to time, I'd don't think I'd ever get tired of seeing them!
