Doesn't our petcock design mean there will will always be some portion of gas untouchable in the bottom of the tank?   I wonder how much that amounts to?

Yes, there is some amount of unusable fuel; that's true of almost every motorcycle, car, airplane, tractor...fuel tank. It's a matter of a few ounces. If you want to know the exact amount, drain the tank through the petcock until it stops, then either remove the petcock or remove the tank from the bike and turn the tank upside-down to measure the unusable portion.

Don't know about the petcock design,.. but the tank hump over the frame might strand a few ounces on the right side... if you leaned the bike over to the left you might slosh some to the petcock side.
Maybe enough for a mile or two?...

If you lean to the left, there's none.
If you lean to the right, you can always find a little more.

...Unless you are leaning to the left going 95mph around in a little bitty tight circle, then it's the opposite effect, isn't it?   Huh

I won't put it past Stew to manage 95mph with no gas,...
...but I was imagining tilting the bike at a stop...  Huh
