Did I miss something? I just looked on Suzuki's website and there's no S-40 cruiser shown,,, has the Savage era come to an end?

And I think we are all saddened a bit. Good thing is if you want a new one and can find a dealer holding one in stock, price will probably get reasonable real quickly.

This isn't the first time that the Savage has been dropped. It may come back in a year or two again like before.

Not sure about the situation in NZ, it's still listed on Suzuki NZs website as both cruiser and learner approved. From what I read here US new buyers, shouldn't have too much difficulty getting a new one for at least a year, as dealers will have them, but they're not a hot seller.

I was surprised to see three on the floor at the dealership.

Have you seen something that has confirmed the demise for 2020?
In previous years the S40 has shown up on the Suzuki page long after the other models were posted......it may be the same again this year.

Dave,
Click on the Suzuki USA Motorcycle link:
http://www.suzukicycles.com/Product%20Lines/Cycles.aspx
This is a generic page that shows all motorcycles from 2017 to 2020. If you click on the years (near the top left) you will see the S40 in 2017, 2018 & 2019.
The current year lineup eliminates most cruisers, including the S40. So while I can't answer if Suzuki has stopped production of the S40 (it's a big world and a big marketplace), Suzuki USA is not offering the S40 in their 2020 lineup.

In previous years....the S40 was not in the lineup initially on the Suzuki page - but it did show up later on. I am not sure why they delayed including it on the page....maybe they hadn't figured out the paint scheme or if they were going with blacked out chrome.
We will just have to wait and see if this really is the end, or just a delayed posting to get us all worked up. It may be the bike cannot meet the emissions requirements with the carb.

Maybe Suzuki is taking some time to implement a brake upgrade so the bike is safer for the modern demands of death race 3000 traffic.
One can hope....

Or maybe they are turning it into a 650 single Tempter that many of us have dreamed of to compete in the retro market.

Does this mean parts will become harder to find?

If it's anything like typical automotive manufacturers, the OEM will have parts for at least the next 10 years.
