Glued in bolt caps?
08/22/19 at 04:49:58

The chrome plastic caps found on many of the allen head bolts. Are they glued in place by Suzuki?
While trying to take my master cylinder off I found the bolt caps impossible to pry out without breaking the plastic. After breaking it all apart and scraping out as much as I could from the bolt there's this mess that appears to be super glue inside the bolt head that I can't get out.
And because of it I can't fit the allen key into it.
Any suggestions?

No glue. It's an interference fit. Sounds like a previous owner got tired of reinserting them and glued 'em in rather than replace them.

If it is super glue, acetone (nail polish remover) is the best antidote to soften/loosen/break up the glue where maybe you can pick it out with a small metal pick.

There's no end to the dumb stuff that the previous owner did to this bike. Like the touch up paint on the tank and fenders that turned piss yellow....

Is there a safe solvent for glue I can use to clear out these bolt heads?
Anything faster than trying to pick away at this crap?

I've got acetone somewhere.
