Got a early start yesterday on open day crab season.....
First time in YEARS because of work, etc...

Two pulls, and we were done Cheesy

Tossed back lots of keepers just to cull the 10 Dungeness crab we kept.
We also kept 6 BIG red rock crab, we were allowed more, but we tossed them back, as these just don't eat as well as dungies.....
They do a crab dip very well, etc, as they have a different texture, dungies don't need to be used with anything else other than dipped in warm butter Kiss

16 BIG crabs in the cooler:

I use a turkey cooker out on the deck to steam them.....

The resulting......

Think I will go back out Sunday afternoon, after ALL the TOURIST leave, waiting in the ferry line for 2-3 hours to go home Grin

BTW.....

After I got my traps in, went and anchored up to just chill and wait.
About 45 minutes in to just relaxing, I see these 4 guys in a tin boat, a few hundred yards away, they start waving a flag.....

I pull anchor and go to investigate.

Yep, they broke down.
Four BIG dudes in a 12 foot aluminum boat, had a new yammie 25hp 4 stroke on it....what the heck.
They thought it might be the battery....????
Said I would pull them a few miles to a ranger station, see if he has a charger, or ?.

A couple hours later I saw them heading for home, across the water to the mainland.
