Shocks
05/25/19 at 10:51:27

I put heavier shocks on the bike. Not heavy enough.
Id like the heaviest out there, for a 350lb'r. Not that I am, but i do have large saddle bags.
Taller would be good to, as I plan on nodding the seat. Tongue

I run Progressive 412's  , you should keep in mind that the spring rates  listed on their site are for each shock ,  and they can be found in extended lengths. 11" would give 1 inch more travel over the stock shocks 2 inches,  and be adjustable .

get intruder shocks vs700 or 800
they fit, a good deal longer, and at 250 lbs I'm riding on the 1st notch.

Progressive has there own site ,go there first and get their stock number, then shop around for the best price . my 12 " heavy duty where 412-4238-c   for example.  These shocks are made to fit a number of different bikes so be sure to buy a bushing kit ( about $10) which contains a selection of different sizes that will adapt them to any bike. .

Is there a cheap way to lay hands on those? My saddlebags are pretty big, too.

Seems like when I go hunting

Does the sidestand need anything added when the taller shocks go on?

The only not ancient, rusty ones are imported from Italy or U.K.,,

Under twenty bucks for freight.
Kinda sounds
Too good to be true.

That's pretty much the very high end of my price range, but I'd Do it..
If people who have experience with this kinda stuff say
It doesn't look like a bear trap.

The bike will lean over a bit farther when on the stand.....you do need to try and park in a way that doesn't put the stand downhill.

The suggestion was to get factory Suzuki 800 Intruder shocks - nobody knows for sure what you get with the replacement stuff from China.

You may not be able to find a nice set in one visit.....that is why I suggested that you watch for a while - with patience you will likely find a very nice/affordable set.

This set looks pretty good:
