Engraving some parts
11/20/18 at 18:36:26

I am a hand engraver so I am engraving a few parts on my bike. I did these chrome plated steel pieces that are on the head and then put a clear powder coat on them. I had no clue that chrome was so hard. I am thinking that the side cases will be a lot easier and I do something with more detail.

Very nice.  Would you consider taking on some work from us forum members?  I might like a "652" or something on my chrome cylinder covers.
Might be a chance to make a few bucks over the Winter months if we send in smaller parts to you.

Very nice work!!!  I'm not so much into the "650" part, but I do like the old school detail work you've done.  Not overly done like a lot of "Harley" engravings you see out there.   I think it's pretty cool and more or less forgotten art form in motorcycle building.

One of my favorites,  the SR400 BSR has "the wheel rims and tank and oil caps have been treated to elegant filigree-style engraving."

Portside builds pretty cool old school choppers and they use some nice engravings.

While this "Harley" style engraving is nice work ( call it that because I don't know what it's actually called)  isn't really my style.  I like your style better.

Well, not to nitpick, but it Is a 652 cc.

But you probably don't have an eraser for that....

Just jerking your chain.
That's good work.

One of the reasons I Posted it was to see if anybody would like some work done. My business is called Wade Designs. I do hand engraving for the jewelry trade. Monograms, lettering and decorative work on jewelry. I can even make you a great deal on a diamond if your silly enough to be getting engaged. I do some big trophies and pitchers so it not much of a stretch to do motorcycle parts.
I didn’t realize it was a 652. Too late now. Technically it is a S40 Boulivard but I am going to engrave Savage on the side cases.
And I can do gold plating and powder coating too.

Very good enhancements of stock components, and prove you don't HAVE to throw the side covers away.

Really beautiful work dude.
It is the LS650 and yes, it is a 652cc engine.
My engine is 694.5cc but I call it a 700, just a little rounding as is normally done in motorcycles anyway.
Oh well.
