Keep the stock tire if your doing a bobber.  The 150 will fit on a stock bike but to get that bobber look fender down low stick with the 140.

Thanks for the help.  I will stick with the stock rear tire size.

I fitted a Shinko 230   140/90-15 tire in place of the original ORC 140/80-15 tire   The taller tire does not rub anything and gives a softer ride than the original. Pretty happy with the result but may not be what you want

Dummy me:  when I bought my Kenda 140/90-15 I thought it was very heavy, thought about going to 130/90.  When I bought my 2nd S40 last year, I bought another 140/90!!!!! stoooooopid! Angry

Don't rule out the 130/90-15 size, as it is nearly identical in size to the original 140/80-15, and visually you won't see the difference.  When mounted it is just a few mm taller and 2-3 mm narrower.

You have a far better selection of tires in the 130/90-15 size.

I believe my number one factor to deciding the tire is....I want wide whitewalls.  So, I'll look to see what is available in both sizes.  Thanks.

Not handling, not miles per dollar, not traction in wet conditions,
But big whitewalls,,

I ended up getting new tires on my bike and went with matching Kenda 657 Challengers in the front and rear. For the rear I went with 140/90 and I love the way they feel on the bike

I bought those tires because I liked the whitewalls as well.

The performance wasn't severely changed as my riding conditions are long straight open roads on dry surfaces, or off road for fun.

Cost was a non-issue, those tires are cheap enough and can be bought 4 at a time at a discount.
