If you are going to go with a 13 inch shock, don't waste your money on a twin-tube design. Contact CL MotoTech for a pair of decent shocks:

13" is good depending on your gearing. I fabbed a chain tensioner to take up any slack , I hate sloppy chain adjustment.

Let Chris know that you are putting them on a Savage so he can get you the 14mm bushings.

When you start modifying and taking the bike away from stock......there is always some risk involved.

Bigger sprockets will help to provide clearance - and you can keep the ratio the same by getting a rear sprocket that is numerically a match for the front sprocket you choose.  The only downside is a longer chain and a bit more weight.

And your choice of how to do your footpegs will also be an issue - RYCA has to clearance their mount if you go with a chain.

I was running a 17/54 and had no issues but I have the tensioner. But was not geared to my liking. Originally had 18/52 but was having issues so I made the tensioner and changed it to 18/54 and then to 17/54. Next will be 18/51 should do it , still accelerate pretty good and still be able to beat Daves GPS top speed and then slide it into the next turn ( Grinning )
I totally understand the money thing , I don't even talk/think about how much I've spent on R & D on this bike. I just keep on going till every little thing is done. Bikes like this you may never be able to call it DONE !
