Indian Scout Street Tracker

Indian has a competition only FTR750 which is really cool but not street legal (or street friendly for that matter.)
http://www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/flat-track-race/ftr750

But this one would be street legal:  http://www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/ftr1200

I really don't need a 1200 and I'm sure it won't be cheap, but it is cool.  I signed up for the updates just to show that people are interested in cool bikes.  Smiley

The front brake reservoir can double as a "shot glass"!

I just hope the price is right. How am I going to splain it to the wife. I have to start thinking this one out now ! I'll just build a nice shed in the backyard where me and the dog and my new bike can live. And then hide the guns , knives , axes, pitchforks , hammer & nails , and anything sharp longer than 1/4" and I might just live. I might have to deal with black eyes,swollen/broken nose, fat mangled lips and missing teeth and possible broken rib or two. Still gotta have it , if I stop posting you'll know what happened !!! Wonder where she is gonna hide my body ?
Still worth it ! Grin Grin Grin

Where's the 'add to cart" button.

As a scout owner, I can tell you, that engine is awesome. To think of it in a lightweight frame with big hoops and all the proper hooligan trimmings...yesss please.

Certainly the hottest naked bike in a long time!
I was at the bike show last year and looked at the Indians. Sales guy asked me what I thought. Told him the bikes needed to lose a lot of weight before I'd buy one. Also pointed out that since my mom hadn't taken a lot of Thalidimide during pregnancy, and that I had stuff like arms and legs, I didn't need the 12" seat height and the pull back bars. In short, make a nice, light standard and I'll buy one. He didn't like that answer.
Maybe someone else did?

I have looked at the Scout at bike shows.......looking at it to see what/how it could be transformed into a Cafe' or Standard shaped bike.  The stock "cruiser" frame layout would make it nearly impossible......it would be easier to just move the engine into another frame - and it is not something I feel like taking on these days.

Still.......this photo makes me think a V-Twin Cafe' bike could be really nice if done correctly.  This one is done very well...shouldered rims, great tank and seat - really nicely done.

I ike it! Do it Dave!  Get'er done! Smiley

I think you could do pretty with a Scout with some rear subframe and suspension work to get the stance needed.  It has some decent lines to work with, but you wouldn't be able to pull it off like the Indian did.

EDIT:  It's been done already!  Searched "Indian Scout Tracker" and this is the first image I got:

And they look pretty badass actually!

https://www.rolandsands.com/blog/624/rsd-indian-hooligan-flat-trackers

They actually sell mid controls. Nab those, longer shocks.  Fab a rear subframe, and belt tensioner belt tensioner, bigger wheels, pipes, etc....

Here is build post: https://www.rolandsands.com/blog/743/rsd-x-buffalo-chip-moto-stampede-indian-...
