The marks on the left and center ones are not depressions but little peaks, thus the popcorn reference. I have seen some with a few of these but these 2 have a lot more. There was a 3rd but it was so bad that eruptions had developed and the stuff inside was coming out. It was like large granolas of sand/rock. It seems that before the little peaks were covered by the rubber holder that was on the unit and I just did not see them. Typically, when I remove this unit from a bike I don't look behind the rubber and so very likely overlooked the damage on the bikes. Is there something that can be done to prevent this damage ? Something to look out for ?
