What happened to good radio? My brother used to be a radio DJ until as he calls it, robot radio, took over everywhere.
In middle + high schools I had WLIR which then became WDRE in addition to some great college radio stations. In Philthy we still have WXPN which does still have it's moments given it has real DJ's that actually take requests like the old days.
Remember before when you wanted to do a shout out to a friend or dedicate a song to sweety you could call the radio station for that? Of course you had to use the phone on the kitchen wall and keep trying until there was no busy signal but it was what you had and it was cool!
