The End is Near

Tracker project is nearing the end , well kinda sorta , project like this never seem finished , always something to keep it from being DONE ! Anyways it's time to remove the temp seat and have one made. Get the paint on it , have the ignition plate powder coated ,header blasted & repaint it. Engine will get the 2.75 lb flywheel , check cam chain just because the headers coming off , put a different clutch rod in. Gee adjust the valves and give it a Rotella/Redline/filter to keep her happy. New tires to follow all that.
See what I mean about being DONE !

Ruttly:

You will find that although you may have reached the "substantial completion" - it likely will never be completely done.

With each riding season you will find something you want to tweak.  For my bike that included a change in the tire/wheel size once I learned the 130/70-18 rear tire is too wide for the 2.50-18 rim, then chagnes to the turn signals to make them more visible in daylight,  then the speedometer/tachometer was changed to get one that was more vintage looking, then a Big Brake kit, then I had the seat rebuilt to provide more padding and a better look, then the Gary_in_NJ changes to my forks.  This summer it will be the new RFY shocks, a bigger cam, the lighter flywheel....and some day I want to make a stainless header and muffler.

Yep, never done. The only thing that is near is the first goal.

First riding season - my goal was to just get it ride-able.
The second riding season I improved the brakes and shocks.
Over the winter I had parts painted and powder coated. So I'm good for this season.

In the coming years I will:

Build a stronger engine. While the engine is out - powder coat the frame.
Start replacing the pitted parts with fresh parts (bike was a barn find and a lot of the remaining metal parts wont clean up)

That's the fun of having a custom - it's never done, you're just between improvements.
