Healthcare R&R

https://mises.org/blog/repeal-and-replace-neednt-be-complicated

From a free market perspective.
Look at tuition. Look at year over year graphs.
Look at when the Goobs got into the loan business.
Who decided HMOs were a good idea? I hated that crap immediately. Gee, look at where we are now. And INSTEAD OF looking Back and thinking, the Dumbmasses seem ever content with Letting the nbghtchi h hv people who Did this, Fix it.

I don't know how people can stare a system in the face, that works, is cheaper, is better liked, and has better outcomes... and then say that it can't work...
It is... it does... in nearly every civilized country in the world...

If we're special... it's short bus special... Undecided

Well, I think I will stick with
Observed Reality.
I'm in Texas. Pretty fair trip from Canada, wouldn't you say?
When my wife was in Scott and White, Temple Texas, the RV parking lot was heavily populated with big vehicles with Canadian plates. I, being the thoughty type, considered the implication and, I believe, reasonably and rationally inferred from those facts that the Canadian people who could afford quality care would travel to have it.
It's called the Mayo clinic of the South.

This is not a partisan argument, but how are we civilized?  How many people perished in wars during the last century?  How many non-combative deaths were there?  Have we evolved at all since the Roman empire?

We're so civilized that we spend billions upon billions and kill people around the world while our own people do without. Yeah, the very definition of civilised.

And while we are on the merits of socialized medicine, I knew a guy on another forum who developed a chest cold. Went, did what they said, didn't cut it, went, did what they said, rinse, repeat, dead. He had Juuust Retired, no longer a cash cow for the system. Useless eater, suddenly dead.
I'm sure every Bamicare Believer will laugh, but if people don't know that rationing will be a part of the plan, they are dreaming.

When it's good enough for the politicians, it's good enough for everyone.

JOG - you have hit the target.  The fact is that the wealthy can and will travel and pay large sums of money for the best health care (some of it cosmetic). The issue that everyone is ducking is the bottom quarter of the population.  The bottom 10-15% have medicaid, which the Republicans want to role back. They cannot afford to go to hospitals, because if they are above the Medicaid levels they will end up thousands of dollars in debt which they will not be able to get out of.  That means the hospitals will have to ask the states to reimburse them and obviously the states can't afford that.  Especially in the states with very stringent Medicaid Rules (yes, they do happen to be the former slave states but that may be a historical anomaly, yes?).

Tax credits, they only help those who can afford the payments - the rich (OMG another Republican effort to help the wealthy keep more of their money - what a surprise). Shocked

Prior to the HMO debacle, rationing of health care was straight forward, the poor didn't have access.  They got sick, fell out of the work force, became indigent dregs of society.  Yes, we can spend billions to kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people whose governments do not agree with ours.  Why do the survivors hate us?  I wouldn't hate you if your government bombed my town and killed my family. Gosh no. Grin

WOW,  Their is  NOT,   enough  bandwidth on this web site,
to tell you how   BAD,  ‘Obama Care’ , is. ( aka in MN, called,  ‘Mn-Sure’)

Two Hour  +++++  Wait, for a  Live  person to answer the Phone.
RUDE, ARROGANT, SNOTTY,  people answering the Phones.
Their   STEELING  MONEY  !!!~!~!!!!!
(Had to get a State Senator and the  Very  Reluctant State AG  involved)
The Gov, giving the top  Mn-Sure  officials  a  BONUS.
(when they would not last 5  min, in a private practice)

And ON, and ON, and ON, and ON, Etc., Etc.,  Etc.,  +++++++

Cheese and Rice,  the   Communist/Socialistic,
PO S   HC, in other places are SO  GOOD,
That  MUST   Be  the  Reason, That   Rochester MN,
(Home of the Mayo Clinic)
The  TOWN,  is   FULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Of   Canadian   License Plates.

He L L,   JOG   sees them in TX,
What the  He L L,   ?
how may do you think are in  MINN  ?????????

(*As the term was approved, as per the  ‘moderator’, and the new Censorship  rules, as per a very recent post)

"How's the sand taste with your head in it"?

Oh  Yea,  that,   Communist/Socialistic,
      “”” Other, ‘Civilized’, Nations ”””
One  Payer  System, works  SO  WELL !

Now, Is  the  NEW,  System going to be  BETTER ?
Don’t KNOW,   YET.
DO Know,  (without even reading it),
it  will be  LIGHT  Years  Ahead of   bam a  care.
And  Better than the HMO’s.

When a  Company makes a  Aspirin,
And other companies buy it for, (in bulk), for 1/4 cent a pill,
Then re-bottle it, and sell it for,  $0.02, to $0.06  apiece,
 (depending on the brand name)
It is   YOUR,  Choice  to purchase the 2 or 6  Cent  pill.

BUT when you are Forced, that is   FORCED,
to pay,  $9.00,  that is  NINE  DOLLARS
For something that cost, at the VERY  MOST,  6  CENTS.
‘“Gotta  A  Problem  Houston”

Nothing wrong with making a  profit.
Nothing.
BIG   Problem,  with  GOUGING,  OBSCENE, OUTRAGEOUS.
THIS, is what needs to be fixed in HC.
Not  the , Communist/Socialistic,  crap, which,
by  ‘Observed  Reality’,  is  STILL   CRAP.

1. HC in the USA  IS, the Best.
2. HC in, a Communist/Socialistic, environment, is  Crap.
     (No  incentive to do better)

So what’s  Left?
HC  Insurance Companies,  OPEN, to  EVERYONE.
                Across  ALL State Lines.
It is up to that Company, to decide on what they want to do.
NOT,  a   Monopoly,  they way it is Now,  (Again, Thanks  Bam a)

Their is  Competition, to lower HC  Premiums.
Their is incentive, to make thing better.
   (Drugs/Procedures)
Their is a  net, to catch all those, who live under bridges.
(And  a   REAL, Process to determine, those, who, really need,
or those that drive a Lamborghini, to the food shelf)

Do you know, Heart  By-Pass  surgery in the USA,
costs, 250,000.000  - 350,000,000.00
In  Taiwan,  SAME   THING, SAME  THING,
costs  20,000.00 - 30,000.00
(And  guess what folks, it's not  'cutting edge'  like it was 40 years ago)
