“…Trump’s cunning and energy, and his unique appeal to the disaffected white working class, did not destroy the Republican down ballot, but more likely saved it.  …”   This,  (From your  link).

‘Could  Be’.
Don’t know yet.
Will find out.
But  More and More, I  Believe it, (and see), ‘Could Be’.

Heck, this country gave  8  YEARS,   (2,920  Days),  to  Bama.?
And cannot give,  100 DAYS,  (After Jan 20th),  to  Trump ????

Seems  I  remember,  that the, DEEP,  Criticism, of  Bama, came  AFTER, 100 days, and  Everyone,  SAW, what he, did  NOT  DO !
And what he was  NOT  GOING  TO DO.
And the  Freedoms he was  GOING  to Take  AWAY !

I haven't read the link, this is just a factual rebuttal of your comment

Obama got 65,915,795 votes, and 332 Electoral votes

Trump got 60,273,030 votes and 306 (if you include Michigan) Electoral votes

Clinton got 60,861,761

Trump is far less popular than Either Clinton or Obama

heck even ROMNEY at 60,933,504 got more votes than Trump

again, NO MANDATE

well, unsurprisingly, YOU ARE WRONG.  the republican leadership met the night of Obama's inauguration on how to plot against Obama, and Rush Limbaugh proclaimed that he wanted Obama to fail on Jan. 16, 4 days before Obama's inauguration,  not to mention the more extreme conservative media opinion shows, who NEVER gave any support to Obama

now compare that to the democratic leadership and the "liberal" media, saying that they will work with Trump where they can, on you know, like infrastructure, that Obama was trying to get done also, but the republicans wouldn't work with Obama on ANYTHING.

Lost,  when you say,  "No  Mandate",

Please, Explain?

I see, as a,  'Mandate',   what  the POTUS  Elect, had,  'SAID", he will do.
Do you expect him to do all that,  even,  BEFORE, 100 Days  After Jan 20th ?

My referencing  Obama was to point out "if" the very polls that called Hillary to win, use the same data to project Obama's favorably ratings, then she should have won.

Or, you factor in the Bradley effect, which is a PC backlash, and come to a more realistic number, which bear out Trump's victory.

BTW, mandates mean nothing, as they should.
If any person elected to this office, should serve all.
Not circumventing the process through their own desires.

Now senators, and representatives should serve their electorate, but a savvy politician should consider all its population as well.

a mandate, in America, you know America right, sometimes I wonder...  is that the president or other politician, has the will of the people behind them, majority rules mandate, so to stand against that is to stand against the American people, so that politician gets to do what they want until the popular opinion of that politician changes.

this is different from the "honeymoon" period, which is where Trump is now, where people give him a bit of time to get adjusted to actually doing his job so they are nicer than usual to him.

political campaign promises, like the "contract" is usually something that a politician would like to do to take advantage of both the combination of the honeymoon period and this majority rules mandate, but Trump LOST the popular vote, so his mandate is highly diminished, not only did he lose the popular vote, but the republican party LOST seats in both the house and the senate, yes they still control them, but by LESS than they used to before the election, which kinda says that people didn't really like them all that much, so those two things together really reduce any mandate Trump and his supporters think they have, IMO

thank you for explaining, that actually makes a bit of sense, I don't have enough inside information about polling to know one way or another about that though, but I think it's clear the some of the polls need to start to reconfigure their processes to get better results.
