If you don't want to change things around very much, I really like these Trail Tech surface mount gauges. They mount with double sided tape, they are small, and they hook up easily with just a small wire wrapped around the spark plug wire.

They have them for voltmeter and engine temperature as well, and I might put a temperature one on my bike....just cause I like knowing that kind of stuff.
