As a libertarian, I believe that is true. I'm curious to see what other people think.
Please, explain your thinking if you oppose.

Not that it matters what other places do, but

Note that America’s attitude toward prostitution is not the norm among civilized nations. It is legal in Spain, Germany, Holland, Finland, Austria, Denmark, Italy, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Argentina, Brazil, and many others. Canada, idiotically, makes it legal to sell sex but not to buy it. (It gets cold up there, and I guess sometimes they forget to wear hats.)

My first quick thoughts on the matter is that, ignoring morality/religion, prostitution can be harmful, especially if it's not regulated. Just think of the life of stereotypical female prostitutes. They don't live very nice lives; they live under the control/abuse of their pimps. I reckon that prostitution is not the best kind of occupation to get into Sad

Why should anyone need permission from the state to screw for money? The restaurants have a copy of their last inspection, mounted on the wall. Prostitutes, if they want to please the customer, will get regular checkups and show that report. The market will sort itself.

Prostitution will more than likely be illegal for another 20 years, not for any moral reason though. The US penal system will need more victim less criminals to put in prison.

I suspect we are going to see unimaginable changes to the country in the next 10 - 20 years and their is truly no telling. How many honors did Bruce Jenner get just for putting on a dress?

Incidentally, I read one may render the services for $4 in Greece.

No, it should not be legal. It is not victimless and it is the same as say a professional athlete earning income with their bodies. Legalizing it in the US would be a diaster for girls and young women who've already grown up with the Kim Kardisian's of the world as popular public figures. Sex has consequences.

And who gives a $hit about what's legal in Europe? Who wants to follow them down to the cesspool they are in? No thanks.

The funniest picture I've seen recently was Bruce receiving an award and it said "How can you win 'Woman of the Year' when you haven't even been a woman for a year?"

I don't see why it shouldn't be legal. I like the idea of a restaurant rating on the wall. I think the negative aspect of the lives of prostitutes stems from the underground culture. I believe if it were legal it could be refined a little, maybe include a 401k.

like prohibition, because it's illegal, the pro's can't go for help when they need it. remove that stigma.

You guys are out of your f'ing minds if you thing this is a good idea.

The already devastated black community would be dragged further down, if that's even possible.

Every struggling young girl, especially in small towns where the opportunities are limited, would be targeted by "legitimate companies" and conned into thinking this is just another career paths.

Any of you guys in favor of this have daughters? Neices? You okay with them taking this career path?

That about ends my family involvement.

How would them being targeted be any different from... what happens now?
Modeling, ballet, amateur pornography?
