Heres my band aid for the speedo rattle.  I haven't had the time to go through the correct route and actually fix the problem, but I couldn't handle the rattle anymore.
Did this last night in the dark, so its a little sloppy. But totally got rid of it.  Zero rattle.

Used some black gaffers tape.
