Hey guys,

Recently I wrapped my exhaust pipe and after putting it back into place my brake light is on. When I turn off the lights it goes out as well and wont respond when I hit the brakes.

Someone told me I had to adjust the brake light switch. Where is it? Close to the foot peg of at the rear (the cable that runs up close to the end of my exhaust pipe)

It would be nice if the people behind me can so me hitting the brakes Wink

If you look at the foot pedal up at the front of the bike, you will see the large cable that operates the rear brake.  You will also see a smaller cable attached to the pedal, and that small cable runs back to the switch that operates the brake light, and the switch is located on the frame behind the right frame cover...up behind the battery.

You must have done something that made the cable too tight.

Thanks for the info! Turns out my front brake was jamming so that was the reason it wouldn't turn off.

Good thing that you told me where i could find the cable that opperates the rearbrake signal. Close inspection revealed it had snapped and now it is to short to fix it. I am going to have to replace that cable but long story short, problem fixed!

Love this forum Smiley

If you need a new rear brake cable and plan to order it.....I can save you a bit more time and effort.

In the parts diagram....the cable for the rear brake light is in the diagram for the controls mounted on the handlebars (Don't ask me why).

Part number 58830-24B01

I didn't expect you to buy it from the Honda of Florence site - but I wanted you to know the part number and where find it in the parts diagram.  Even seasoned parts folks most likely would have trouble finding the rear brake cable for this bike....when it is located with the handlebar stuff!
