The P/N that the service manual calls out for mine (2011) is DPR8EA-9, which is pre-gapped. Bought one today for $2 and change. If you want, I can look yours up, to check the plug P/N and gap, if applicable. Need to know the year...

The Savage has a big lawn mower engine, and the normal everyday plug works just fine.

The Iridium may hold up a little longer.....and it is not all that expensive, and it certainly won't hurt anything (don't tell Serowbot that I use one).

Gap it to the same setting as the stock plug.

Stay away from the E4 and other gimmicky plugs....if they were truly any benefit the factories would use them. The iridium and other exotic metal plugs don't really provide any better performance - they provide longer life before the tips erode and the plug is worn out. Rounded electrode tips don't provide good spark, and the exotic metal can hold the sharp edges longer.

That point is something I have always done with other ICS's.
If a SP, Sparks. Just square up the electrode with a small file.
'And it will just keep on, ticking'.

Some folks, don't know. But on a
'tune-up', it was common to, 'Sand Blast' plugs.
Their was even a special machine for that.
(Which of course, made the edges, 'rounder')
