Extending wiring.

So I need to extend some wiring to clean up my mod.  I have the wiring skills, but does anyone have input on these wires or would recommend something else?

Just use the same gauge as the original... shrink tubing over the joints...

I've had trouble getting a good mechanical bond with tinned wiring.
If you plan on solder splicing the tinned wiring, make sure you test the strength of the connection after the solder cools.

Bigger, or same, wire size, perfectly OK.
  (NOT SMALLER)
'Stagger', joints.
'Heat Stink', tubing over, Soldered Joints.

You know how to twist the wire and make the connection straight and not poking out?

Justin,  Not sure what you are referring to about twisting the wire and making it straight and not poking out, but I used to solder audio cables in headsets and help build custom mic connections for helmet headsets.  I'm pretty sure my skills are up to the task of soldering a few connections.  I did take from this feed, from what everyone said, is staggering my connections, a nice reminder on solder, and gauge wiring.  I'm grateful for the positive feedback I get.  What I really need now is advice on in another topic I starting called wiring heads or tails.  I figured out what I was looking at, now I need to figure out how to cut it and reconnect it.  I'll post the link after I find the topic

Here is the link to the next issue I could use input on.

Thanks again to all who take the time and patience.

Mmmmkay, you've probably got it figured, but for any who may not, IF you take 2 two wires and hold them in one hand and the stripped ends are side by side and you twist and solder them, that is not going to make a clean job.
Gotta hold the wires aimed at each other, end to end,

Justin, My apologies.  Upon reading my comment again, I think that came off wrong.  I think being so snowed in is starting to get to me.  No ride therapy in sight!.  The clarification is definitely appreciated and I thank you for all of your input.
