Well , the news is ****  Smiley

Cabin after tax  .................... =  $56.oo  Smiley
Vehicle fee        ...................  =  first 2 free , $5.oo each for more  Smiley
Entrance fee      ...................  =  first 4 included , $4.oo each for more  Smiley
Extra over 4 people  .............  = $3.oo(cabin), $5.oo(Vehicle), $4.oo(entrance)

So four = $66.oo total after tax. and $12.00 a head for up to 2 more people,  according to Tina (parks and recreation dept.)

Smiley

Also Tina suggested we make reservations before the end of February  for a Spring trip .

3 people ... $61/3= $20.34
4 people ... $66/4= $16.50
5 people ... $78/5= $15.60
6 people ... $90/6= $15.00
6 people 2 cabins = #20.34
7 people    ........  = $18.14

What are the odds of us getting 12 to show ?   Huh

Hope my math is right  Roll Eyes

Versey

I'm in for cabin #1 ,  with 6 of us staying so far we should get the $15.oo/night rate , I'll have a cot with me if all 6 of us show up .  I'm OK with sending (Pay-Pal) $100.oo to ya to get us a room (Friday-Tuesday) just incase only only 3 show-up.   You thinking mid February is soon enough to reserve a cabin ?
Three of us @ $100.oo can get the 1st cabin locked in and get change back if more folks show-up.  Wink

anyone interested in meeting in Baton Rouge Thursday evening the 16th then riding on to Kerrville Friday ?
http://freecampsites.net/#!8912&query=sitedetails

I'll be going south on I-59 to Slidell, maybe that would be better ?  Huh  Anywhere around that area is OK.   Cool

MapQuest shows I-12 going north of Lake Pontchartrain then I-10 on to Kerrville , (65-75mph ... 5 tanks of fuel ... and we're there !  Smiley )

of course, I tend to dislike bustin 60-65, so ya'll might wanna meet me there so I don't slow the parade down  Grin

I will have to be "game time decision" on if I will be occupying a cabin at all on any given night.
It's a matter of the wife's health..
If I do, I will certainly chip in more than my fair share for that night.

I intend to wander up to Kerrville this weekend and look the place over, take some pics, etc.
Maybe that will give ya'll a better idea of what cabin you want to grab.
Any particular thing you are interested in as far as what I should take pictures of?

Happy to help, even though it will probably cost me a whopping $4 to get in the place to get the pictures!  Shocked

Yep.   Got tent sites $10.00 a night.
http://www.kerrville.org/index.aspx?NID=831

Referring back to this linky:
http://tinyurl.com/n4lkwbn

Riverside Tent sites are close to Riverside Mini Cabins
11 of 16 sites available during that time frame.  I would DOUBT they would need reserved.
They don't mention the Butterfly tent sites on the reservation page.

I just took a closer look at the map and descriptions.

Each of the mini-cabin sites has a tent site nearby.
Riverside Mini Cabin / Riverside Tent
Group Area Mini Cabin / Fawn Hide-a-way Tent
High Point Loop Mini Cabin / Fox Run Loop Tent

So, it's all good as far as that goes.  I'll try to get some pictures of it all this weekend.  Then you (or someone) makes the call.

671 miles   Lynchburg Tn.  to  Lake Charles, La.

Last March I did a 700 mile ride to Daytona .   I was on the Harley running 75 and 80 on the super slab all day.   Fuel millage was down to about 45mpg running that fast.  At the time I was thinking ,  "Why didn't I stop after 500 miles or so".  Huh    That last 200 miles made for a LONG day.

OldRider
Baton Rouge is about 530 +- .    You got anything just west of Baton Rouge ?
The seat on my S-40 (Harley Soft Tail seat) is more comfortable than the sportster , but their both as good as I can find!  Wink   Different bike and back-rest but same seat.
