Gbouch, a couple of questions.
What year is your bike?
And how much of the stock electrics do you want to use/reuse?
I would try to use as much of the factory wiring as possible.
Can you post a couple of pics of what you've got?
No worries. I'm sure we can figure this out.

Gbouch, a few more questions. Are you using the stock ignition switch and the stock handle bar switches? Is the speedo still in the gas tank? Are you deleting the side stand interlock?

I have a wiring diagram I drew up for my bike using a ignition switch from lowbrow customs. I'll post a picture of it later. It's not colored but you should be able to figure I out.

This is about as simple as it gets... No turn signals, no decompression, no horn, and no bar controls.

Awesome thanks for the diagram.. did you use new wire, or try to salvage the existing harness wires? I will be trying this out today since i have a day off and attempting this process again.. thanks guys

I used the wiring diagram from the manual so if you look a that it should be pretty straight forward. I used as much as the stock wiring as I could and used bullet connectors whenever I had to make a connection in my electronics box, and then ran new wires to my front brake light switch, coil, headlight, and rear brake light.

That's an interesting chain tensioner. Skateboard wheel?

What gauge wire runs through an S40? It looks to be 14-16ga.
