Guys - OK - raised the idle speed ...

The bike definitely sounded a lot better and it initially behaved a lot better at stops with no stalls while I shifted down from 3 to 2 gear and in some cases to 1 while i come to a stop.

After couple of laps around the block - the same thing started to happen again. This time while I was coming on either 3 or 2 gear and pressed the clutch while I was downshifting and engine speed as at idle it stalled again.

Now what?  :'(

Checked the battery as well just now and it reads a good 12.66v as well.

Should I be concerned with the spark plug now?

If. It's dying, raise the idle till it's obviously too high.
Is the gas old?
Are ya letting the gas slap shut?
How does it act on restarting?

Had the same problem with my 2011.  Got a Raptor, raised idle, adjusted fuel/air, no more problem (got the bike in February and did all this within the first 2 weeks, runs great).

Idle is UP now, gas is new.
I dont believe I am shutting the gas too fast. But as I engage the clutch (2 or 3 gear doesnt matter) and release the throttle, the stall happens, especially like when I do a downshift.

I tried once more at 9PM...

idle same at the previously adjusted higher RPM.

Now when u start the engine barely keep up...it is stalling even while parked. When i give a bit throttle it hesitates but if i leave throttle it dies again.

OK guys back after few days. I have done few things:

1. Raised the idle speed
2. Giving enough time on choke to warm-up (2 mins)
3. After that extra 1-2 mins on idle without choke before i get rolling

Today after doing all of the above I started rolling (fuel valve ON position)
after 3-4 miles on 3-4 gear. hit a red light and while downshifting bike stalled again. Sucks!!!

I started again with a bit more throttle and again after 1 mile on a red light, same thing happened.

Parked the bike on the right, moved the valve to RES (tank was 100% full when I started) and cruised again without any problem for 2 hours.

Called the guy where I got the bike and he said it may be the clutch cable. Thoughts?

I am planning to do the drill again with fuel valve ON and see if it happens again and if it is a non-issue on the RES.

Opinions?

Sounds like a petcock problem. Test your petcock.

I know Im arriving late to the party, but I was having the same issues as you. Didn't want to beleive a faulty petcock was the issue, but it appears to be.  Here is an  easy test:  If all your other adjustments are spot on.  ride the bike on prime...you won't hurt anything, and see if you stall out.  What is happening is the vacuum can't keep up with fuel demand when rpms fall, that's why it ran a little better when you raised idle.  Try, and if it runs better on prime, then you have your answer.  Just remember to flip back to on position after ride or you can flood the carbs.

If you haven't done it yet, change the petcock.  And no, it's not the clutch cable?

The first day I had my bike out the bike would cut out as I rolled off the throttle.  I switched it over to prime and drove it in prime for days without a problem.  My petcock corrected itself but I did swap it over to a raptor.  Now I enjoy the fact that I not only that it won't repeat a flare up but I can now take the tank of with ease to do general service.
