Leaky forks
11/05/13 at 08:26:31
Hey guys. My forks are leaking a few drops per day. I plan on taking them apart and polishing the surface and replacing the seals. What kind of behavior can I expect from the forks as they lose more oil and when will it become unsafe?
Thanks
Ryan

Nope. So just less springy? Is it particularly dangerous?

There's some natural friction damping even with no oil as some have found out. So you probably won't notice even if it ran completely out of oil.
There's a little do hicky like a credit card that you slip in between the fork and seal and run it around the tube. This clears out any bug parts as well as scrape the seal.

When I see my fork leaking, I swap it for a spoon,,
