Ok, so its been about three weeks since i started my bike, and it has been cold...i know for at least one week i had the carb switch in the down position where it opens up the gas...i went to start the bike and it wont kick over to save its life.

Stock petcock, or Raptor?... Huh...

In general,.. Smell for gas... check for gas in the airbox...

To start a bike that is flooded,... hold the throttle full open and crank...
..(but,.. don't crank for longer than 5 or 6 seconds, without giving the starter a rest for 30 seconds or so,.. so that you don't burn out the starter motor)...

check your voltage, it'll spin but not fire at 10v.

or charge the bat and try again.

If you have a choice, store with the front end higher then the back.

If it do leak, it'll go into the airbox instead of the crankcase.

What is that supposed to mean ??

It could mean,..."it cranks but it won't start"
It could mean,...."it won't even crank"
It could also mean,...."it won't crank, won't even click"

Proper terms could help the diagnostic crew.

My wife and I don't share this converstation well.  When she says her car "Won't turn over".....she means the starter will work but the engine won't start or run.

I agree.....we need more specific information.  Exactly what problems is he having?  Does "Kick Over" mean the starter works.....but the engine won't start or run?

I have the same frustrations in life.

To me these words mean the crankshaft won't rotate:
-- it won't crank
-- it won't kick over
-- it won't turn over

To me these words mean the battery and the starter will make the crankshaft rotate but the motor won't start up and commence to idle:
-- it'll crank but not start
-- it'll turn over but not fire
-- it'll spin around but it won't run
-- when I let go of the key, it stops making that starting noise and nothing happens

I can decode the meaning of those terms okay.

What riles me is when someone just says, it won't crank.  Down here you have a 3 out 4 chance of that meaning it spins over with the starter, but it won't start running.  Maybe that's what "it won't kick over" means, I dunno.

If I am trying to help someone with that level of vocabulary, I usually start asking some really simple questions, so we have a meeting of the minds as to what info is being imparted.,...
-- When you touch the starter button, does it make any noise?
-- What kind of noise does it make,.. does it just make a clicking sound like a wall switch and then stay quiet?,,...or does it make a whirring sound that stops when you let go of the key?
-- so on and so forth

so, exactly what happens in step by step

1. its a 2007 with a new battery, it has been three weeks since i last started it.

2. key in position. and i hit the starter switch
 - I can hear the engine trying to kick over but it will not start.

3. it clicks, it cranks, it just doesn't start.

4. The more i do it the slower it trys to crank over, so i stop because i dont want to make things worse.

5. two days in a row and still no start

6. I love food

7. I'm an a**-hole

All help is appreciated

Ok, we need to get specific, remember.....???
Is it a stabbing pain, throbbing, or pulsating? Does sitting lessen, or agitate it more? Boxers, briefs, or dangles and tangles?

You mentioned, "I can hear the engine trying to kick over but it will not start."

When you say "trying to kick over", does that mean it is trying to make the inside of the engine spin around and it can't, or does that mean the inside of the engine is spinning around and the engine just won't keep spinning around all by itself when you let go of the starter button?

I think its like Versal said, charge the bat-tree and it will be good to go.

Speaking of that, I went to start mine today,....setting 2 1/2 months.....w/o any charger connected.
Turned it to prime, and instantly saw the gas rushing thru the fuel filter to fill the carb (never noticed that before) but the minute I got it cranking over, I knew it wasn't going to start. It fired once, but it was just cranking too slow. But 20 minutes on a 1.5 amp float charger, it fired up instantly,......runs beeeeeeeautiful, like always !

the engine is spinning on the inside and yeah it wont spin by itself

So, i'll charge the battery seems like the best thing to try first
