Using a 3rd party server:
Place your cursor between the right and left brackets.
Open your picture on your 3rd party server
Right click on your picture and select properties
Highlight and copy the address
go back to your post and paste the address between the brackets

"Image properties" doesn't exist on newer FireFox browsers. Instead select "C
o
py Image Location"

Maybe a stupid question, but do you have to use a third party server? Meaning I can't just upload a pic from my phone?

The method that I've explained allows you to post many pictures in a single post and place them where ever you want.
Whenever you upload pic's, you can only do them 1 at a time and they appear only at the bottom.

If you're like me, you may like to have the image a "decent" size but not too big. I use Imgur.com, it's free and you can get "Large Thumbnail" formatted pictures. Here's an example, upload a pic. Once it's successfully uploaded select "Large Thumbnail" while viewing the picture and copy the url "BBCode (message boards & forums)" and paste into threads and, viola! It'll look like the one below.

A really easy site to use for posting pictures where you don't need any membership is
https://postimage.org
You just load up your photos, and you get a choice of links, best to use the one that says Direct Link, just put it in the image tags, and you're good to go.

So apparently Google Photos won't work for an avatar. Is there a size limit? I've tried several other hosts.
