Very Custom Savage!!!
04/30/12 at 15:07:07

Saw this on another forum and had to show the pics/story here...was from a bike show in Brooklyn this last weekend.

In the photographer's words, not mine.

"It's a fully custom 650cc single. They guy built everything from scratch and it looks amazing. There was a swarm when this guy pulled up and I think he's going to be the feature for next monts issue of Cycle Source Mag."

Hand shifter and throttle!

Honda Rebel shock "springer"

Custom Tanks made from overflow tanks from a triumph I think.

Probably just got this much done in time for the show.
Will likely do more later.

Not sure I would be comfortable operating the front brake with one hand off the bars.

Stock headlight too. And stock front brake, though the wheel is flipped over.  It does look interesting but not comfortable and pretty short range too.

Awesome fabrication work gone into that Bike! It is so cool to finally see the LS650 gaining some actual Street Cred with the Custom Motorcycle community! Cool

Of course, we knew the LS was cool all along! Smiley

oh my

I love steam-punk and I love savages, nice

...wonder how it handles.

--------------------------------------

Did anyone noticed the front brake fluid
reservoir is next to the front pulley?

And how the decompress is now an
old manual kitchen mill handle and
the clutch some old garden tool handle
or something, cool.

Cool

I dont think I have enough hands to clutch & shift , Im real sure Id be in a bind in traffic, wanting to feather the front brake, catch a gear & swap lanes,, it looks good, no doubt,  & yea, steampunk is cool, but that thing is dangerous, I really dont see how to clutch & shift, I see the clutch, I see the shifter, I just dont see makin em both happen at the same time,

You have any idea how much control over the brake & clutch levers come from having the arm & hand braced on the bar, & lever position controlled by finger position relative to the palm? Hit a bump while the front brake is being used,, no biggy,, because youve got control of the lever, put your arm off the bar, & suddenly, that bump takes the control of the lever away from your fingers,, your arm is flopping around, clutch, same story.. cool looking, bad idea,

Meh, I like a motorcycle to at lest kind of look like a motorcycle...yeah maybe it would be cool in a show or a bike-night kind of thing. But for general trips and just plain riding, not so much.  Huh
