Does anyone have an exact raptor petcock part # or model/year it belongs to?

It seems like there is more than one available.

Thanks

I did know which Raptor to buy the petcock for, but, it escapes me. However , having Asked for exact parts and gotten home, only to discover that I had purchased only an approximate replacement, I Carry the part I am replacing in the store and compare. The money saved by buying online isn't that much, and the down time is really different and you get to support the local economy. And you Know you're not getting a knock off in a box that has Yamaha on it.

If you don't see the Yamaha part number  5LP-24500-01-00, or the white box with the Yamaha trademark....find someplace else to buy it.

I decided to go with a raptor when I was on the Mass turnpike ,I was passing a truck and because the throttle was wide open(low vacuum)the diaphragm shut killing my motor, I tapped my brakes hoping the three cars behind wouldn't run me over and managed to cost in behind the truck and made it to the side of the road .After cleaning my shorts,I fired the bike on prime drove home and ordered me a RAPTOR

With the stock petcock I got pretty good at switching to prime.
Just a few rev's and back to blast.

Now that I got a raptorcock, it's a forgotten art.

Having ridden a motorcycle on the Mass pike, I WOULD NEVER DO IT AGAIN !!!!    In fact, I wouldn't get on the bleedin' thing again in anything smaller than an Abrams.

Hehe, still the same problem over there.
You should do something about your lousy gas.
I am still riding with 1993 petcock, and every spring it fires up on the old gas from last year.

Yes 9 month no problem, in my MotorHispania the gas is many years old.
Never had any problem here in Sweden with gas that are several years.
My Volvo 142 may have gas that is 5-6 years old, still start fine every time I had to move it.

That was me. I knew what the problem was, so no need to come to a complete stop. Switch over while still rolling. The Savage was 10 yrs old and the pet diaphragm had gotten stiff and required a lot of vacuum to open. The last straw was trying to keep up with friends at 65 mph and a 20 mph headwind. I finally got tired of it and finally just left it on prime for the whole trip. I was a little worried about having no reserve, but luckily, another rider had to make more frequent gas stops then I required. i ordered a Raptor the next day.

I also had trouble with the petcock not operating correctly on days below about 45 degrees.

verslagen , I was returning from  RI. after giving my
son a truck to drive,he was there 3 monyhs at school (navy) . It was in march, temp was 29 degrees I had snowmobile mittens on and that didn't work to well for trying to turn the petcock which was always pretty stiff to begin with.
