i have some questions.
05/04/11 at 12:39:01
i have a 05 savage, cone intake and jardine exhaust. when i first ride it it bogs terribly. after about 5-10 mins it starts getting better. is that normal?
second question is, with me putting on the cone intake and jardine exhaust do i have to re-jet? i got occasional "hiccups" while riding..
last question. this thing takes forever to get to 65 mph. and ive read some people got theres to 85mph easily. and ive never gotten past 60-65. what should i do?
thanks in advance! any information will help

Did you try choking 1 notch,.......see if it picks up speed ? That could tell you a lot.

Probably some jets.
(sorry, I couldn't resist).
With that intake and exhaust I would order one size up pilot jet (55) and 152.5 and 155 main jets. I would put in the 55 and the 152.5 and see how it runs. If it's still lean, put in the 155. There is all kinds of info on what to do and how to do it in the tech section. Just do a search (remembering to select "all posts" at the bottom, and read away.

Choke richens your fuel intake. You need to buy some bigger jets and try incremental steps to get where your bike runs the way you want it to.
Also, you may want to do the white spacer mod for the bogging but I would work on the jets first...

I run 55 and 155 in my 98. Stock airbox with no door, blocked top inlet. Free flowing (gutted) 12 inch glasspack muffler and 39" tailpipe with 7.5" baffle in the end.
Just a touch rich for mine, should be just about right for yours. Will give a beautiful flame out of the tailpipe at high rpm "kill".
