Side markers?
04/05/11 at 12:42:49

Has anyone swapped the reflectors on the front frame for marker lights?

This would probably look lame. Would it do much for visibility? I'm a new rider, and this is my first bike (which I love so far!), so I'm perhaps a little paranoid. It seems like it would be hard to see the bike from the sides.

They don't look too bad, a bit thick. I found some reflector replacement lights that use LEDs, so they are thin. They're for Honda and Yamaha cruisers, so I'd have to measure the fit.

You could easily replace them with self-adhesive LED strips.

I installed 4 side dual intensity appx 1.5 inch chrome finish round yellow side led lights. the low intensidy is running lighs and the high intensity is run into the blinkers.  i picked them up on ebay cheap.  i will post some pics soon..  also mounted two very small red leds in line of sight on windshield brackets and two high pitched piezo into the blinkers so i can hear and see when they are on.  hard to notice the stock light on the tank and that could be deadly.  also mounted  two toggles under the horn switch to turn off the piezos horns when not wanted.

MOST mc accidents are when cagers turn left in front of you

improve your front visiabilty..

second most is you get rear ended..
improve your rear/braking lighting...

side lites are vanity/show
you out run most side collisions...(point for the hole and go!!)

very true i did the front and back first.  two halogen piaa's in the front along with that gizmo that ties into the headlight that blinks rapidly. has a light sensor that turns off at night. has 3 positions.   i keep it off at all times but when the horn is pressed it flashes the high beams rapidly day or night just in case i need to get someones attention that is about to run me over ....  got some high intensity red led strips that flash 5 times anytime the brake is pressed in addition to the stock light..    i am a first time street rider and want the best chance to been seen from all sides.

here is the link to the amber dual mode lights.

i believe customdynamics is the maker of the tail light bars  that are a good addition to have.

I installed one of the Narva Rangepower +50 H4 bulbs I pulled out of my Trooper. It's only 55/60 watts, but brighter than stock.

I'm also thinking of converting the rear turn signals to marker/turn with a delay unit.
