ignitor box plug help
04/05/11 at 12:30:40

OK. so I was riding and my left side frame cover rattled loose and fell off, then my ignitor box did the same. Unlike the frame cover the ignitor box is attached to the bike via the wiring. Well, the box was hanging right next to the belt and since I long ago chunked my belt guard the belt cut right through the wires right where they go into the plug on the harness side of things. I did not even notice what was goin on until the bike died about a 1/4 mile from the house and I looked down to see a bunch of frayed wires blowing in the breeze. Is there a way to reconnect the wires to the old plug or get a new plug or am I gunna need a new harness altogether?

My CDI box crapped out on me too, they're quite pricey, buy used on ebay. But now your problem is you dont have the terminal either, wiring harness is freaking expensive too. Hopefully you can salvage or find a used one on eBay too.

I still have the box, went back and found it. I was not willing to shell out the $100+ for a new one. I was not so lucky with the frame cover though, couldnt find it and apparently they are much harder to come by than the right side frame cover for some reason.

Problem is getting it connected to wire harness with the connector gone. Replacing the whole harness is a bi7ch too.

cant splice?
try goggle "molex" & make your own?
if you dont have a ssm or clymers
can provide color code/wire locations...
GOOD LUCK!!

The wires cannot be spliced since they were sheered off right at the connector. It took me forever just to figure out which wires went to which outlets on the connector but I found it in the clymer. So yes I have a clymer.
