Just wondering if the timing mark on the cover and the mark on the alternator rotor coincide with each other. I'm thinking it should be but not 100% sure.

ok so with this mark lined up the cam should also be lined up?

Right because the crank turns twice for every one cam rotation.

So many questions in life come down to a matter of timing
