California Savage Model Q

Is there any advantage of removing the Republic of CA emissions canister at the bottom of my frame? Is it even possible? I am planning on converting to a raptor petcock if that matters. I am wondering what affect it would have on the hose running from the carb. thanks,
p.s. If it can be removed I will be sure to save it. You never know what future EPA MC smog laws we might be subject to in the future.

The canister is a catch can for the tank and not connected to the petcock. Somehow, mine has fallen off awhile back too.
Just plug the port in the carb.

"Fallen" off? That happened to a couple of catalytic converters on my trucks years ago. What are the odds?

On the Purple People Eater the entire intake tract air pulse system fell off in the garage, them emissions control thangs must be either real poorly designed or very irritating, one or the other ....

Yeah that's it CO
Cali bikes have the vent tube from the gas tank routed there.
If you overfill it, gas will go there and be "caught"

Thanks for the info, you can probably tell from looking at my bike that I don't like a lot of extra crap on there, so i'll probably pull this ASAP. are there any negative consequences of removing it? Provided I'm not a complete 'tard and know how to fill my gast tank?

Just route the vent line somewhere other than the top of your engine.
