Heads up Babyhog. Obamacare makes it mandatory to take your companys insurance if offered.
I had to drop my wife from my insurance and she has to take her more expensive crappier coverage insurance.
our costs have more than doubled.

That is strange as I just completed my enrollment last Friday,  and was able to opt out of the medical from my employer and stay on husbands.
I will make a call tomorrow and make sure, yet it did ask me if I was covered under spouse's?  kim

Can you let me know what you find out? I'm also under my husband's insurance  Sad

About half the people I know, have health insurance... and all of them are either state or federal employees, or retired on medicare......    or Raytheon,... which might as well be Fed...

So,... I'm paying for their healthcare...
I wouldn't mind if I got some too,... if everybody got some, equally...

No one, here, I know, working in the private sector, has health coverage... but they're all paying city, state, and federal tax...

We're all paying it in.... we should all get the benefit....

& the point the Constitutionalists would make is.

IF people werent forced to Pay In, then theyd HAVE $$$ to get insurance with. We aretaxed to send $$$ to other countries & keep bases open on other continents. Many, Many wasteful things being paid for by taxing the people.. maybe we otta have a look at some of that..

Costs go up when each employee must be covered under his/her employer's plan because the premium for the primary insured is more, and the premium for the family coverage is less.

In two worker households, there won't be any family coverage anymore except for the kids.  Each worker will be required to be covered by his/her own employer.

Just an example of a silly result from rushing a very complex bill thru so fast for political expediency.

Remember, ALWAYS when gov't gets involved in something, it's more expensive than what the private sector can do it for.  Gov't has never had a motive to be cost efficient.

So which spouse covers the kids?  One of those whoevers-birthday-comes-first-in-the-year deals?  Or can that be chosen by the parents?

Sorry, I don't know the answer to that one yet.  Ask your health insurance agent, or HR dept. if you work for a large employer.

18 months isn't rushed through . . .  just saying

and what we are getting now are a bunch of different companies all finding different ways to profiteer from the bill and blame the government.   they helped write the bill, they knew this was going to happen.

sorry, I don't trust corporations, I don't trust government either though . . . and I definitely don't trust the media  so I'm kinda just stuck here not know anything and I refuse to buy into either side so I'm stuck here in the middle forcing myself to rationalize this crazy crap going on

congrats though on the victory for your family
