Mick, I have to agree. Its sad to say, but I would rather see humans treat each other badly than someone treat animals(dogs) badly. My best friend is a German Shepard/Basset Hound mix. He may not be the most handsome dog, but he is loyal and protects my family.

and here is my husky, the other woman that runs my life, lol

I took my new Bugg (Pug/Boston Terrier mix, I have concluded) to be neutered last Thursday. Everyone at work said he'd be mad at me, but he was so happy to see me when I picked him up! "I" didn't do the surgery, right?... He hugged me all evening.... that's love.

she is eight human years old,yes still have her.
And for Mike she is half Visla and half golden retriever, I got her at the pound when she was 8 weeks old. And what I thought was amazing the very day I got her home she made a mess in my hallway,I picked her up and put her nose about an inch away from the offending turdette, I then took her to the door ,I lifted her paw and made a scratching move, that was the first and last time she ever made a mess in the house,I have never had a dog learn that fast.

Generally the bigger the dog the shorter the life span.
And Mutts are usually smarter than AKC dogs, But ther are no bad dogs ,only bad owners,
So please let us know if you get one, you will love the experience,have you had one before ?
I have always had a dog in our family but I had never chosen the dog,
as a kid my Mum picked the dog,as a husband my wife picked the dog,
the one I have now I picked out on my own,and she is the best little pal I have ever had. Good luck.
