I have seen engines like that rigged so that it ran on two cylinders while the other two worked as an air compressor.

I saw a Ford V-8 set up as a air compressor, one bank of cylinders were set up as the compressor while the other bank ran them. Boy did that thing hurt your ears when fired up. Great find, I had an straight six that would of been a good canidate for a mod like that. It even had a cracked head and block.

That is FANTASTIC!! scrap utilized as learning project, Top marks to him, he put a lot of work and thought into it EXCELLENT!! but how long will the crank last

Without any strain against it and at those rpms, probably a long time if he oils it before each demonstration.

He's got three extra sets of bearings that can be swapped out if the driven set gets a little worn. Wink
