driving lights
05/02/10 at 11:57:03

I want to see when I am driving those curvaceous country roads and  I am thinking of ordering these lights...

http://www.hondasuzukinorth.com/eshopprod_cat_6250-58260-28423_product_893624...

Anyone know if they will work and how to wire them up if they do?

Thanks

I would get the 35w option, 50w would overtax the generator.

you might consider how you'll mount them too.

here's one option...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLEY-DAVIDSON-TURN-SIGNAL-HANDLEBAR-CLAMPS-/...

or get a second set of our turn signal mount and clamp them to the forks.

I am getting mirrors with the turn signal in them and will mount the lights in place of the current turn signals on the rubber stalks.  at least that's the plan as long as it looks good!

Texas has two sides.  the west side is flat and all dirt.  the east side is nice and green!  all kinds of trees, hills ( not to be confused with mountains) and winding roads that every motorcyclist should drive down.  I am from the eastern side.  Dallas to Louisiana is a good side to be on!

There are some nice bright LED fog/driving lights that are bright. They also pull very little juice. The local parts stores around here carry them. I put a set on a friend's little 250 4wheeler and was very surprised to see the amount of light they put out. Price on the box was less than $30 before tax.

If I am Forced ( & thats the only way Ill do it, when Im forced) to go back to West Texas, I try to leave so that its getting dark when I get to about Abilene, cuz it starts getting farther & farther between trees about there. I want it fully dark when I get to Odessa, for sure, cuz its plumb butt ugly over there. Im about 1/2 way between Dallas & Shreveport, La. & we have all kinds of trees & low rolling hills.

For those who think Texas is flat, look up Texas Hill Country. Some pretty`stuff over that way.

I used to live in Gonzales which is around the Austin, San Antonio and Houston triangle, it is in the tropical region of Tx. We had hills, curves, palm trees and everything. I wish I would have moved back to Austin after College but oh well.

i have those same housings from jc whitney...paid half what your posted listing shows...
for the last 3k of 13k ive had led bulbs in them..less drain and plenty of angle..got them at "suberbrightleds.com" they radiate out of the center and are 1watt emmiters 10 each bulb plug right in to those mr11
housings....
P clamped them on the forks level with the center of the haed light..
since the got a larger plexi faring and had to lower them..still above the turn sigs..higher K reting is a "bluer" lite mkes suzi stand out..
got plenty o "hills" here and curves these 55 year old eyes can see just fine..plus i added a higher K head light bulb..

They were Optronics brand. They are flat kind of oval shaped with multiple LEDs in each housing. I plan on mounting a set on my Savage sooner or later.
