Looking for saddle bags online

I am looking for some good saddle bags online that will fit my Savage 98. I don't want to modify the bike at all. The other day I saw some good ones, but the rear turn lights had to be moved back. So those are out of the question.

I'm looking for something that has lots of room and looks cool. And let me know your experience with saddle bags. Here is a pic of my bike and the room I have to work with the saddle bags. Thanks

Take a piece of cardboard and do a mock up of the size that will fit between your turn signals and shock. Also the distance between where you want the top of the bag to line up along the fender and then down above the belt. (You can always trim down the yoke). That will give you a pretty good idea of overall size. You determine the depth. A lot of owners buy too small. I went with no name (Xelement) slant bags, 14" x 9" x 6" deep. Made from synthetic something, weather resistant. They look pretty cool, fit the bike nicely, have held up well and for $99 and I'm satisfied. Bare in mind that beauty is in the eye of the owner and what looks good to some may not appeal to you. I for one am not into tooled leather, conchos and fringe.

I made that mistake on my other bike (Marauder 800). I have these bags:

They're too small. You can fit a rolled-up jacket and a bottle of water in one bag, and some tools and maps and stuff in the other, and that's it. They aren't really good for carrying groceries or packages. You can't jam a spare helmet in them.

Take a look at the size of these bags, and then get something bigger. Grin

Shipping was about $10 I think and they were here in two days. Quality seems fine and they are BIG. 14x6x11.5" I've not mounted them yet as I'm still working out supports, but not seeing any downside.

Bigger than the notes I had scribbled upon! I think they had several in that price range if you don't like that style. Size was my main concern.

I'm sure they sell supports but from what I've seen supports are stupid expensive. I found some tubing at Lowes for $1.50 for 5 feet. I plan to fabricate some myself and save $$ and learn a thing a two.

The bags do indeed require the blinkers to be relocated. Here is my experience in doing so.
