I'm currently in Tblisi, Georgia (no, not "Georgia south of South Carolina", Georgia as in "borderig with Armenia")

This is how you write "TBLISI, GEORGIA" in Georgian ტბლისი გეორგია

Apparently it is one of the OLDEST alphabets which still survve in their original guise.

Well, here I am, it's evening, and what d I see ?
Shocked
The Eiffel Tower?

So "ME TAKE'UM PICTURE" but then I realize my camera is a Sony (Memorystick) and my netbook will only read SD cards... Tongue
Embarrassed
OK, so I spent the last 15 minutes or so struggling with "google.ge" which appear on my screen (with the georgian lettering  Cheesy) anytime I try Goolgle.com...
The I finally find what I took a picture of, even though I'm actually showing you pics off the internet...

Now, a very opinable opinion has it that Georgia and Armenia are in Asia... very opinable because they are Christina since the earliest of times, Greek or Byzantine in culture and most certainly Western in culture... eve though Gegraphy has them east of Turkey...

So, I have provided a little intermezzo in this contest, waiting for Jef.Savage to show us what he found...  Wink

I was in Paris, too -- saw the Eiffel Tower, but there was such a long line...
We said, "If we wanted to stand in line, we'd go to Disneyland" and then climbed the stairs to the top of Notre Dame.  No lines for that one!  Also got to the top of La Defense, but there was an elevator for that one!

Thanks for the patience.  I planned on getting this last week but was stopped by an unseasonal snowfall.

Crafted in 1954 by Jewish sculptor Arrigo Minerbi, the Madonna Shrine also boasts a series of artistic ceramic-tile stations recounting the story of the Immaculate Conception. The statue, which was recently cleaned after years of exposure to the elements, is an exact replica of the six-ton landmark overlooking Monetemario hill in Rome. In fact, Minerbi first designed the Boston-area figure as a gift of thanks to Italy’s  Don Orione fathers for offering him refuge during the Nazi holocaust.

I can only vouch to that, here's the original, "flying" back to the top of the curch after it was blown down in 2010 durig an exceptionally violent thunderstorm...

Hats off to you, Jeff !!!  Cool

I'll leave this to the judges:

It's a brewery, not a factory. And it doesn't have big old smoke stacks. Just small ones for steam from the kettles.

It does however, make delicious beer.

There is a traditional factory with smokestacks further south of me, I just haven't gone by there recently.

If this does pass the mustard, the next picture will be:
A really tall radio broadcasting antenna.

I like the brewery but I don't think we can call those smoke stacks.

we used to have lots of mills/factories around here with smoke stacks - most are long gone - there might one left I will have to go see if it is still there over the weekend.
