What carb are you using?

Mikuni Tm 42mm with accel pump.  The bore is Teflon coated,  fancy.

Its a little over carbe'd at the moment, but shouldn't be with the headwork I plan on doing.

that is correct on the boot dia., when i set a tm40 up on the neighbors savage i used a step ring i had from my suzuki dr650 project. i seem to recall 142.5mj, 15pilot, a 40 ap nozzle jet with the needle on the 3rd slot down. this was on a stock bike.
edit: the ap delay can be set at the top of the rod with a Popsicle stick or .100". this is a good starting point and worked for me both on the dr and the savage but no dyno here.

I made a step ring out of derlin, but even with silicone I could never get it to seal right. It also never held the carb firmly.

Ive got a slightly ported exhaust port, full 1.625 exhaust, 4 degree ignition advance.  155 main seems to be pretty good. the dyno will tell soon.  Think im running a 17.5  pilot, could stand to go a size or two smaller. Know anywhere I can get some jets that dont cost an arm and a leg?

This winter I plan on welding up the exhaust rocker box in the head and re designing the exhaust port. Its honestly the worst design ive ever seen.

Anyone have a destroyed head laying around they would like to get rid of?

try jeff at procycle, he did a lot of work developing a tm40 kit for the dr650. his pricing is about fair as it gets, plus he has the jets. it's the ap jet that cost and drilling one out is not an option, i got by with the 40 and 45, and you might want to pick up the tiny oring for ap jet while your at it. you should be ok with those and a 15pj.

Hey, watched the next video.  Looks like you're walking around pretty good.  Glad to see you've recovered.

yep, I can walk pretty good. The problem is the knee wont bent past 90 degrees. It simply locks up.

Im doing PT in hopes that I can slowly stretch the tendon to gain more range of motion.

well the battery cranked the bike 5 times in a row, then no more.

Im not satisfied so im starting over.

Im brainstorming ideas to mount a mechanical oil pump for the turbo.

Id really like to run it off the camshaft if the timing chain was higher quality.

That guy "Lancer" has sourced a more durable cam chain for the savage.  Nitrided pins or something like that.

Truck, I tried a UPS battery, then what I have now - a 7Ah small moped battery... tell you what - about a minute of total cranking is about what you get. Than again - if it doesn't start by then...
Now - if we could figure out a kickstarter somehow ...
