seeing how close the sprocket and disk are, I'd be nervous about chain lube splashing onto the disk. But I don't have you guys' build and ride experience, maybe it burns off fast or just never happens? And it's the rear brake anyway.
this is an engrossing build in any case - thank you for showing it in such great detail.

c2001, 3800miles, 3rd owner, adjusted idle, raised seat, Tkat brace, Raptor petcock, cleaned carb, replaced some jets, Dyna muffler, Fiamm horns, Shinkos, future Ed L. forward controls, fork boots.

Most chains these days are sealed, meaning an O ring or an X ring seals the lubricant inside the chain where its needed.
Oiling is not necessary, only an occasional cleaning and waxing.

How will you keep the chain off the swingarm?
*Edit, looking at the poics more, Im thinking the lower chain is still a couple inches above the lower part of the swingarm, tho Im not sure..

I don't think you're likely to have torsional bending.
but that configuration would be stronger than just straight tubes.

I don't even own a Savage (yet, I'm really lookin to buy one here soon) but I had to sign up just to say, Holy shizz, you are building one of the coolest bike I have ever seen! Its like you live in my head and take all my ideas, hahaha. Keep up the great work man. I cant wait to see the rest of the build.
