For long lights I usually leave it in neutral to minimize clutch cable strain.  Usually I keep my hand on the clutch lever in case I need to move quick.

yeah i'm thinking i'll make sure everyone is stopped behind me b4 i go into neutral....we have some crazy people down here in south florida....

actually, i prefer to ride @ night because no one is on the roads....very peaceful  Shocked
