Hot Foot?
09/10/08 at 14:55:11

Is it normal for the left side of the case to get hot enough to be painful? Sometimes on hot days, I've had it get hot enough that it burns my left foot through an uninsulated leather boot.

So far, I've seen nothing abnormal with the bike -- the oil's ok, as is the belt. I'm just concerned.

Yep,..very hot...you wouldn't touch the hot engine block of a car would you?  And it's water cooled....just gotta' learn to ride with your foot about a inch away from the case.  Freaks me out too sometimes, but that's just how engines work.

Are you running a stock carb or have you re-jetted and done the white spacer Mod?????

If you're running stock, it's lean and the bike runs hotter.  I noticed that as I tested different jet combinations, the leaner it was, the heat radiated from the bike..
